Audi Q3 feature-to-life launch film
A music-led SUV launch film that moves from design and feature proof to a human lifestyle payoff.
Field notes / why it works
The oversized model name identifies the product at 0:00, and 37 shots in 58 seconds turn exterior angles, cargo use, off-road driving, UI and lighting into a brisk proof sequence. Sparse white labels let the footage carry the claims; the edit then slows for people and an emotional closing line around 0:50, which coincides with the top replay peak at 0:50.5–0:51.0.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A 58-second, widescreen live-action launch film identifies the product immediately, proves features through movement and close-ups, then connects it to a social, outdoor life. A music-led edit lets sparse product labels and a final human-centered line do the explaining; there is no spoken pitch.
Why it works
- The large model name is on screen at 0:00, so the viewer knows what is being launched before the first cut at 0:02.44.
- From 0:11–0:41, loading, rough-road driving, the dashboard, assistant UI, and lights turn product attributes into visible actions; the measured edit runs 37.2–44.5 cuts/min.
- The closing line shifts from hardware to life at 0:50–0:58. The top replay point is 0:50.5–0:51.0, at the start of that emotional turn.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 58.0 s · measured source 640×360 at 25 fps |
| Pace | 37 shots; 36 measured cuts, 37.2/min; up to 44.5/min counting 7 uncertain motion changes; mean 1.57 s, median 1.24 s; 1 measured text step |
| Script | No spoken narration. A sung song has roughly 69 machine-transcribed lyric words; its 81 wpm measurement is not a narration target. On-screen copy is sparse: model, feature names, closing lifestyle words. |
| Voice | Low-register, melodic male singing on the music track; no character speaks to camera or narrates. |
| On screen | Roughly three-quarters moving product footage; remainder people, use-case actions, and dashboard/UI inserts (estimated from frames). |
| Captions | No lyric subtitles. White geometric sans labels sit on the image; the closing small setup line is paired with a bold one-word benefit. |
| Sound | Continuous melodic, cinematic pop song with a prominent sung vocal; no clear cut-synced SFX. −13.1 LUFS integrated; −1.3 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | 5 beats: name → exterior → utility and capability → technology → human/lifestyle payoff; no explicit CTA. |
