Heat, Taxi, Skip
A 15-second live-action taxi ad turns a hot wait into a moving vehicle, phone proof, and a delayed one-word payoff.
Field notes / why it works
The first 1.3 seconds make heat and waiting legible before a moving red taxi reveals the answer; the main replay peak falls around 0:01.6–0:01.8. Nine shots in 15 seconds move from discomfort to vehicle to phone proof at 0:08.3, then hold the largest white payoff text over the taxi at 0:10.1–0:12.9. A plain one-second brand card makes the product easy to remember.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A polished, live-action city ad makes an ordinary wait feel hot and frustrating, then gives the viewer a fast visual escape through a red vehicle and a phone. The product promise is withheld until a large white question and one-word command arrive around 0:10–0:13; a plain brand card closes the film.
Why it works
- The first 1.3 seconds show people enduring the heat before identifying the solution. The opening replay peak is at 0:01.6–0:01.8, during the first taxi movement.
- Nine shots in 15 seconds (32 cuts/min) move from human discomfort to moving vehicle, then to the phone and the product message.
- A dark red taxi gives the eye a recurring object at 0:01.5, 0:04.9, and 0:11.5; the oversized white “Skip!” message lands on that object at the payoff.

| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 640×360 source · 25 fps · 15.0 s |
| Pace | 9 shots · 8 cuts · 32 cuts/min · mean 1.67 s, median 1.32 s · no measured within-shot graphic steps |
| Script | 20 ASR tokens · 108 wpm overall, 141 wpm during speech; transcription is low confidence, so use these only as pacing guides |
| Voice | Low-register, animated rhythmic vocal over music; Cantonese delivery is inferred from the Hong Kong campaign and visible text |
| On screen | Live-action street and taxi narrative; one phone close-up; large campaign text late; black brand card |
| Captions | Small white Traditional Chinese subtitles near bottom centre, with tiny legal copy at lower right; campaign headline is much larger |
| Sound | Continuous tonal, music-like bed; measured −9.0 LUFS integrated, +1.1 dBFS true peak in the source; no clear cut-synced effects |
| Structure | Friction → taxi pursuit → product demonstration → verbal/visual payoff → brand card; no separate on-screen offer CTA |
