A $6 Energy Bill and a Home That Stayed Powered
A three-customer home-energy documentary leads with a surprising bill, then proves the story through installation, outage, and statement footage.
Field notes / why it works
The film names the prior $400–$500 bill by 0:09 and a $6 bill by 0:19, before introducing the household; the 0:19.2–0:20.8 handoff is the largest replay peak. It then supplies multiple kinds of proof: roof installers at 0:35–0:39, storm context at 0:59–1:06, backup hardware at 1:13, and the readable statement at 2:01–2:07, another replay peak.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A polished, interview-led customer film starts with an everyday problem and a startling personal result, then follows a household through purchase, installation, resilience, and the receipt. Three related customers speak in their own conversational registers; their claims lead the pictures. The product is a supporting character until the final brand card.
Why it works
- The opening reaches a specific benefit quickly: a high prior bill at 0:06–0:09, then a much smaller bill at 0:16–0:19. The largest replay peak is at 0:19.2–0:20.8, on the bill-to-family handoff.
- Proof is varied: installers and panels at 0:35–0:39, a past storm at 0:59–1:06, a battery at 1:13, charging at 1:55, and an actual bill at 2:01–2:06.
- The return to the bill at 2:01–2:06 renews the opening promise late in the film; it also coincides with another replay peak at 2:04.8–2:06.4.
