A fold becomes an event invitation
A silent geometric teaser turns a white crease pattern into a colour reveal and a compact event invitation.
Field notes / why it works
Faint grid lines start a visual puzzle immediately, and the first raised panels add depth by 1.5–2.6 seconds. Colour arrives around 4.5 seconds, followed by legible event details around 6.6 seconds; YouTube's replay peak at 6.4–6.5 seconds falls as the finished object and invitation meet. A single cut at 9 seconds gives the mark a clean three-second hold.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A silent, 12-second event teaser makes an abstract folding form the clue to a forthcoming reveal. A pale embossed grid gains depth, opens into a restrained four-colour object, then resolves to a left-aligned invitation and a final brand card. It sells anticipation and an event date rather than demonstrating the product.
Why it works
- The first 2.5 seconds turn almost imperceptible hairlines into raised paper-like panels; the viewer waits to identify the shape.
- Colour appears only after the white-on-white construction, around 4.5 seconds, so the green, charcoal, lavender and cream reveal has contrast.
- The replay peak at 6.4–6.5 seconds coincides with the finished object and legible event copy; the date and destination remain available until the 9.0-second cut.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 640 × 360 source · 30 fps · 12.0 s |
| Pace | 2 shots, 1 cut, 5.0 cuts/min; 1 detected internal step at 2.55 s, 10.0 detected picture changes/min including the cut; average shot 6.01 s. Continuous folding and colour shifts happen inside shot 1. |
| Script | No spoken words. One headline, an event label, a date and a viewing destination. |
| Voice | None; no person appears. |
| On screen | About 75% pale-background geometric motion graphic; about 25% black brand card. |
| Captions | None. The headline and logistics are designed invitation text, not speech subtitles. |
| Sound | No audible music, speech or effects in the measured source; integrated level reported at −70.0 LUFS. |
| Structure | Four visual beats: construct → reveal → invitation → brand stop. Payoff at about 5–6 s; logistical call to action by about 6 s. |
