Six Financial Charts With Sound
A 24-second vertical motion graphic turns six financial histories into animated, colour-coded charts with live values and sound.
Field notes / why it works
The premise is readable at 0:00, and the first chart starts drawing immediately while the date and value update. Six roughly four-second chapters renew attention at 0:04, 0:08, 0:12, 0:16, and 0:20 without a camera cut; the gold finish around 0:07 is the strongest replay point. Consistent axes and a moving white endpoint make each metric easy to follow, while new colours, icons, contours, and units keep the sequence varied.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A single black vertical dashboard turns six financial histories into successive animated line graphs. The title makes the sound experiment clear immediately; a traveling dot, changing year/value readout, and synchronized audio invite viewers to watch and hear each curve unfold.
Why it works
- The hook is readable at 0:00: a white premise pill sits above an initially empty chart, and the first national-debt line starts drawing within the first second.
- One continuous scene keeps the chart grammar familiar while six four-second chapters refresh the subject, colour, icon, and unit at 0:04, 0:08, 0:12, 0:16, and 0:20. There are zero cuts and five measured scene changes.
- Exact dates and values provide repeated micro-payoffs. The gold segment near 0:07 is the strongest replay point (0:07.0–0:07.2); viewers also comment on specific chart values and comparisons.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube Short · 9:16 · 360 × 640 source · 30 fps · 23.6 s |
| Pace | One continuous graphic shot; 0 cuts/min; five chart swaps, or 12.7 measured picture changes/min; each chart roughly 4 s |
| Script | No reliable spoken script. The six low-confidence transcript tokens are noise artifacts; information is carried by labels, dates, and values. |
| Voice | None evidenced; no narrator to emulate |
| On screen | 100% designed motion graphic: fixed chart scaffold, animated line/fill/dot, chapter headline, faint thematic icon |
| Captions | No speech captions; static premise pill, uppercase topic headline, small axis/source labels, large live year and value |
| Sound | Audio is present. Pitched/data-responsive tones are suggested by the premise and a viewer comment (inferred); the analysis's 129 BPM music estimate has only 0.13 confidence. No secure music-bed identification. |
| Structure | Six approximately four-second data reveals; value at each line tip is the repeated payoff; no explicit CTA; hard stop |
