PS5 Pro: Shadow-to-Spectrum Reveal
A wordless console launch film turns three performance features into colored light journeys before a late full-product reveal.
Field notes / why it works
A half-second brand card yields to black and a barely lit product at 0:02.2, creating a visual question that the film holds until the full hero at about 0:58. Three distinct color-and-motion chapters begin around 0:22, 0:34.5, and 0:47.7; replay peaks at 0:35.8–0:36.4 and 0:43.5–0:44.2 coincide with the kinetic feature imagery.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A 65-second, wordless premium hardware announcement reveals an object by edge light, then turns three performance claims into abstract journeys of light. It withholds a clear, full product view until about 0:58, when the name, product, and controller land together.
Why it works
- The first 2.2 seconds move from a recognizable blue logo to darkness and an incomplete silhouette; the shape creates a visual curiosity gap before any feature copy.
- At 0:22.3 the dark reveal changes to saturated blue, magenta, and amber motion, renewing attention with a different visual texture; replay peaks occur near 0:21.4–0:22.1 and 0:35.8–0:36.4.
- The replay peak at 0:43.5–0:44.2 sits on the “HIGH FRAME RATES” graphic as its purple light gives way to an orange streak. The chapter title is brief, legible proof before motion takes over.

| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 64.7 s · source measured at 640×360, 30 fps |
| Pace | 8 detected shots, 7 firm cuts = 6.5 cuts/min; 18 uncertain fast-motion/flash changes put an upper bound at 23.2 cuts/min. 13 internal steps; 18.6 measured picture changes/min. Mean shot 8.08 s, median 6.58 s. |
| Script | No spoken words; roughly six short headline/feature cards, plus logo, product mark, and fine print. Text supplies the narrative. |
| Voice | None: no narrator, presenter, or dialogue detected. |
| On screen | Product macro/silhouette about 0:02–0:22; abstract motion and feature graphics about 0:22–0:57; full product hero about 0:58–1:02; brand outro. Shares are approximate from sheets (inferred). |
| Captions | No speech captions. Centered, white, uppercase feature headlines in a bold grotesk sans. |
| Sound | Tonal, cinematic music-like bed; rough beat estimate 179 BPM, possibly half-time. −14.1 LUFS integrated, 9.2 LU range, −0.7 dBFS true peak. No clear cut-synced SFX measured. |
| Structure | Logo → concealed product and promise → three feature chapters → full product/name payoff → logo end card. No spoken or on-screen call to action. |
