Lip Line shade-wordplay reveal
A 30-second vertical lip-pencil launch built from macro application, rapid shade puns, diverse portraits and a compact availability card.
Field notes / why it works
The product, oversized identity and actual lip application appear in the first second, while four cuts in the first three seconds turn a tiny spoken line into a sequence of visible results. The 26-shot, 30-second montage continually changes face, shade, scale and prop; the strongest replay peak at 0:11.2–0:11.5 coincides with a clear pencil-on-lip demonstration. A product and availability card lands around 0:28 after the playful shade run.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A vertical beauty launch presents a lip product through a sequence of spoken puns and close-up applications. It promises the new product immediately: the opening logo and product name are visible by 0:00 while an applicator touches a lip. Each named shade gets a small visual joke or tactile proof, ending with a product title and availability card.
Why it works
- At 0:00–0:03, an extreme lip close-up, oversized brand mark, product label, and three-word spoken challenge make the category clear before the first cut.
- There are 26 shots in 30 seconds, with ten cuts in the first ten seconds. Macro lips, pencils, garments, and faces trade places before any one image goes stale.
- The most replayed span, 0:11.2–0:11.5, shows a pencil applying a dark shade to a lip. That is the strongest visible product proof, not just a beauty portrait.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube vertical · 9:16 · 360×640 source · 25 fps · 30.0 s |
| Pace | 26 shots; 25 measured cuts, 50 cuts/min. Nine uncertain late changes put the plausible ceiling at 68/min. Mean shot 1.15 s, median 1.02 s. |
| Script | About 28 detected spoken words; 66 wpm across runtime, 134 wpm while speaking; eight short utterances, no questions or direct second-person address. Recognition mishears several shade names, so the legible frames govern the wording. |
| Voice | Ensemble of poised, playful adult voices paired with the models on screen (inferred from changing mouths); clipped phrases, expressive emphasis, generous space. |
| On screen | Mostly live-action macro lips and beauty portraits, with product and body-detail inserts; two burgundy product graphics. No screen recording. |
| Captions | Small, clean white mixed-case phrase at lower middle; one shade/keyword in pale yellow uppercase. Opening has a large white italic brand mark and smaller yellow product label. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal bed measured near −24.6 dBFS, about 4.7 dB below voice; individual cut effects are not clearly established. Integrated −15.3 LUFS. |
| Structure | Four beats: immediate identity, shade/gesture montage, portrait escalation, product/availability close. CTA is visual text at about 0:28. |
