A Pink Battery Explains Energy
A character-led animated explainer turns a battery icon into a visual guide for usage, recharge and exceptions.
Field notes / why it works
A character's opening question delays the icon reveal until 0:02.9, exactly where the highest replay peak falls (0:02.8–0:03.3). The same pink battery anchors the phone reveal, number counters, and rule changes at 0:08–0:27, so 11 shots can teach the mechanic without dense text. The 0:18 bonus question renews attention before the exception and short call to action; critical comments show the video's clarity did not imply approval of the feature.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A playful character asks what powers their progress, then a single bright battery icon becomes the answer and the recurring visual anchor. The animation demonstrates a daily reset, usage, ways to earn more, and an exception before ending with a short imperative and a branded hold.
Why it works
- The opening asks a personal question at 0:00 and withholds the answer until the 0:02.9 cut; the highest replay peak covers 0:02.8–0:03.3.
- One pink icon appears on a phone at 0:03.2, as an isolated counter by 0:11.4, and as a large graphic at 0:16.5, keeping the explanation legible through several scenes.
- The rule changes are concrete: full charge and daily reset at 0:08–0:16, earned energy at 0:18–0:23, and an exception at 0:24–0:27. This progression provides a reason to stay until the closing prompt at 0:29–0:34.

| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 55.0 s · measured file 640×360 at 24 fps |
| Pace | 11 detected shots, 10 cuts (10.9/min), 3 internal graphic changes (14.2 picture changes/min); mean shot 5.0 s, median 2.92 s. The final 21.0 s hold inflates the mean. |
| Script | 101 transcribed words, 182 wpm across the full film, about 242 wpm during speech; 15 short sentences averaging 6.7 words; 3 questions. Speech ends near 0:34. |
| Voice | Animated, high-register, friendly character voice; quick delivery with small pauses around reveals. No real voice to imitate. |
| On screen | Entirely flat 2D character and product motion graphics; no live action or screen recording. |
| Captions | No running subtitles; use only a small title badge, prominent battery/count numerals, logo and end card. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal/music-like bed (measured); no clear pattern of sound accents on cuts. −14.4 LUFS integrated, −0.8 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Question → reveal → basic rule → reset → ways to earn → exception → motivational close → long end card. Spoken payoff ends by about 0:34. |
