What Is Notion? A Question-to-Workflow Explainer
An 87-second product explainer that turns a sparse identity question into animated UI proofs and a human-benefit close.
Field notes / why it works
A blinking caret on an empty white screen holds the answer until the 0:07 headline, then three narrow labels set up a fuller definition by 0:16. The 0:19 logo-to-workspace reveal is the top replayed moment, and the film backs its claim with meeting, project, and cross-app answer workflows from 0:33 to 1:04. The final 1:14 question returns to the opening and lands on a human benefit.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A calm, playful voice asks what the product is, rejects three reductive categories, and answers through four visible workflows. It turns a broad product claim into a sequence of actions, then closes on the time or freedom those actions give people.
Why it works
- A blank white frame and blinking black caret delay the answer through 0:03, making the question feel unresolved before the 0:07 headline appears.
- The claim becomes tangible at 0:19–0:26, when a workspace turns into team resources, projects, and an AI input. The strongest replay peak is 0:18.3–0:19.1, at the logo-to-workspace reveal.
- Every broad benefit is followed by a product consequence: meeting notes at 0:33–0:42, project updates at 0:43–0:51, cross-app answers at 0:52–1:04, and a roadmap at 1:08–1:11.
