Star Birds: A World-Building Game Reveal
A colorful 60-second game announcement that turns a character launch into escalating gameplay proof, a mystery tease, and a long wishlist card.
Field notes / why it works
The first 4.35 seconds hold one moving forest scene, so the rocket's ascent creates anticipation before the 0:05–0:07 portal reveal. From 0:16–0:31, one asteroid visibly gains machinery and connections as the narration names the actions. The dark silhouette at 0:43–0:47 contains the strongest replay peak (0:43.3–0:43.9), then the film holds its product name and wishlist CTA for the final stretch.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A colorful character exits a familiar world, crosses a dazzling threshold, and reveals an expandable product world. A low, playful narrator names the premise, then three escalating actions are shown in close product footage before a mystery tease and direct wishlist card.
Why it works
- The opening holds one continuously moving forest picture for 4.35 s; the rocket's departure supplies motion while the narrator withholds the product reveal until about 0:05–0:07.
- A portal flash at 0:05–0:07 resets the setting. From 0:16–0:31, six changes within one long shot demonstrate building, gathering and connecting instead of merely claiming features.
- A dark silhouette at 0:43–0:47 is the strongest replay peak (0:43.3–0:43.9); the mystery creates one last open loop immediately before the logo and CTA.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | YouTube · 16:9 · 640×360 source · 30 fps · 60.0 s |
| Pace | 7 measured shots, 6 definite cuts (6/min); 7 uncertain visual boundaries put a plausible upper bound at 13/min. 17 within-shot steps; about 23 definite picture changes/min. Mean shot 8.58 s, median 4.35 s. |
| Script | 89 transcribed words; 89 wpm over the whole minute, about 135 wpm while talking. Short, declarative lines; 15 detected sentences, about 6 words each. |
| Voice | One low-register, animated, warm, lightly amused narrator; no on-camera speaker. |
| On screen | Fully animated world and stylized product/game footage; roughly 5 s forest, 10 s travel/character, 32 s world and gameplay, 13 s tease/end card. No talking head. |
| Captions | None. Only brief title/logo, tiny game UI, and the final CTA. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal, music-like bed, apparently music-forward; effects are less certain. −14.4 LUFS integrated, −2.2 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Forest launch → cosmic threshold → character → build/gather/connect → world variety → mystery → title and wishlist. Product named around 0:10 and again at 0:47; CTA appears around 0:50–0:54. |
