Xiaomi YU7 dark-to-daylight debut
An 88-second, music-led SUV launch film that moves from a restrained black title and studio reveal to bright road and landscape footage.
Field notes / why it works
A small title on black holds the first 3 seconds, then controlled lighting reveals details before a full product view around 0:37–0:43. The switch from dark studio imagery to moving road footage near 0:47 provides a clear second act; the highest replay interval, 0:45.4–0:46.3, sits at that handoff. The 1:21–1:28 name-card close leaves a simple recall cue.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A nearly silent black title names the product, then a green vehicle emerges through directional light in a dark studio. After a slow sequence of silhouette and detail reveals, the film switches to bright motion and a large outdoor setting, ending on a bare product name card. It promises a first look, immediately through the title, and pays that promise with progressively fuller views.
Why it works
- The first 3 seconds show only a small white product title on black. This creates a clear promise before any imagery competes with it.
- The reveal expands from oblique silhouette at 0:04–0:08 to lamp, side, rear light, hood, and full front by 0:43; each view answers one visual question while opening another.
- Motion intensifies around 0:47–1:16. The most replayed interval is 0:45.4–0:46.3, near the transition from studio beauty shots to the road sequence; the reason for replay is an inference.

| Script | No reliable spoken script. On-screen text is the product name and a one-word debut label at the opening, then the product name at the close. |
| Voice | None confidently audible or evidenced. The automatic transcript has low confidence and isolated nonsensical words; treat it as a music-only film. |
| On screen | Approx. 55% dark studio product footage, 35% moving vehicle and scenic footage, 10% title/end cards (estimated from frames and timings). No people appear as presenters. |
| Captions | None; opening and closing title cards are brand typography, not subtitles. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal music bed; analysis suggests roughly 144 BPM (possibly 72 BPM half-time). No clear repeated cut SFX. −13.4 LUFS integrated in source; measured true peak +0.7 dBFS. |
| Structure | Title → shadow reveal → feature and full-product reveal → driving and landscape → name card. No spoken CTA; description links to the official site. |
