A tiny companion for your AI companion
A polished 60-second parody launch ad makes a miniature virtual pet feel like the answer to an absurd AI companionship problem.
Field notes / why it works
The opening question and glowing miniature character explain the absurd premise before the first cut at 0:05.8. A sincere character problem delays the formal reveal to 0:22, then four UI changes in about five seconds culminate in the strongest replay peak at 0:36. The late product-role reversal around 0:54–0:57 adds a final visual joke after the CTA.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A polished, deadpan product ad proposes a solution to a problem created by an existing solution. It shows the small object first, stages a human and animated character's relationship problem, reveals the new companion, demonstrates a quick sequence of transformations, then lands a real-looking CTA and a final joke.
Why it works
- The opening question makes the absurd premise immediately legible while the miniature character appears inside the device by 0:00.75. The camera holds the image for 5.8 seconds so viewers can parse it.
- The conversation delays the formal product introduction until 0:22.2; the wider two-device reveal answers the setup with a visual joke.
- The morphing character at 0:31–0:37 is the strongest replay peak (0:36.0–0:36.6). A second product-pair image near 0:57 has another replay peak (0:56.7–0:57.3).
