Four Fry Times, One Surprise Inside

A four-stage chicken frying experiment uses persistent time badges and a final cut-open reversal to sustain a 29-second story.

Field notes / why it works

The 1-second test starts in motion at 0:00, and four persistent time badges make the escalating comparison readable without subtitles. Repeated pan-to-close-up cuts reveal each result, while the cut-open proof at 0:08 and the charred-outside/moist-inside reversal at 0:27 reward continued watching. Seventeen shots in 29.1 seconds keep the experiment moving while preserving clear evidence.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A presenter tests the same thing at four increasingly extreme durations. Each stage shows a fast action, a held result, and a candid verdict; a cut-open or close-inspection reveal turns the last verdict into a surprise. The promise appears in the opening line and the first small duration badge at 0:00–0:01.

Why it works

  • The first item is already moving toward hot oil at 0:00; the 1-second badge and safety doubt open a result question before any setup.
  • Four recurring illustrated time badges stay at the top as a progress signal; the observed outcomes at 0:02.5, 0:06, 0:14.6, and 0:24.5 keep revising expectations.
  • The inspection at 0:07.8–0:11.2 and the final interior reveal at 0:27 turn appearance into evidence. The last result contradicts the charred outside shown at 0:24.5.
