Magical Cat’s Clean Paw Reveal
A pastel clay character short uses a patient room tableau and a late paw-pad close-up for its visual payoff.
Field notes / why it works
The pink tactile title is readable by 0:00.5, then a paw crosses it at 0:03 to introduce the character through action. A 25.67-second room shot builds familiarity through small pose changes, so the close paw-pad view around 0:25–0:33 and raised-paw callback at 0:35–0:36 feel like a payoff rather than an unrelated insert.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A handmade-looking title card introduces a little character; then one patient, nearly fixed room view lets small changes in its pose become the story. A sudden macro view of one body detail pays off the setup before a final pose and a brief maker card. Here the title promises a “Magical Cat”; the post caption points attention to its paw pads, or “beans.”
Why it works
- The title resolves from black to pink clay lettering on mint by 0:00.5; a dark paw intrudes at 0:03, turning the title into a character entrance.
- The 25.67 s room shot, starting 0:06.7, makes eye, mouth and posture changes readable against a locked background; the scene does not need rapid cuts.
- A paw-pad close-up around 0:25–0:33 changes scale sharply, then the raised paw at 0:35.4–0:36.2 connects that detail back to the whole character.

| Pace | 8 measured shots, 7 cuts; 10.2–11.7 cuts/min including one uncertain change; 19.0 picture changes/min; mean shot 5.14 s, median 2.42 s; longest 25.67 s |
| Script | 22 machine-transcribed words, 35 wpm across the whole film; the latter words have low confidence. This is a visual piece with two short spoken bursts, not continuous narration. |
| Voice | Brief, low-register, highly animated conversational voice; exact wording near the end is uncertain. |
| On screen | Approximately 62% sustained room tableau, 20% title/credit cards, 18% close detail and transitions (inferred from shot times and sampled frames). No live-action people. |
| Captions | No subtitles. The only prominent text is tactile title lettering and a small end credit. |
| Sound | Original platform sound; long quiet interval after the opening phrase, no sustained music bed detected under voice. Measured −25.1 LUFS integrated, −10.0 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Title → character tableau → detail reveal → full-character confirmation → end credit/title; visual payoff around 0:25–0:36; no explicit CTA. |
