Scrapbook Lyrics to Sweater Reveal
A 16-second music-led collage turns portrait lyrics into a rapid clothing search and then a sparse white sign-off.
Field notes / why it works
The first cut lands at 0.3 seconds, while scribbles, cutout words, and nested photos keep the portrait evolving through 2.8 seconds. At 8.0–11.8 seconds, changing three-item sweater grids resolve into a person-and-sweater payoff; the near-empty white ending then gives the dense collage a visual release.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A nostalgic photo of a young adult opens in mid-song. Handmade marks and cutout lyric words accelerate into a collage, then the lyric's concrete object becomes a sequence of browsed product images; the dense montage resolves to a nearly blank white card. The promise is aesthetic: a line of music will become a little visual story.
Why it works
- The first cut is at 0.3 s, and the first second layers portrait, scrawls, a white paper border, and cutout words, so a static image feels animated.
- The edit turns an abstract lyric into specific visual evidence: portrait/hair through 3.5 s, exploratory collage at 5.6–8.0 s, sweater grids at 8.0–10.6 s, then a modeled striped sweater at 11.5 s.
- It withdraws almost all detail after 11.8 s: guitar and music staff, then a small mark on white at 14.0–16.2 s. That contrast makes the ending feel intentional.

| Platform · aspect · length | TikTok; 1000×720, approximately 25:18 landscape; 16.2 s at 20 fps. Preserve the unusual landscape canvas if reproducing this composition. |
| Pace | 15 measured shots, 14 cuts, 52 cuts/min; 12 uncertain changes may raise apparent pace to ~97/min. Mean shot 1.08 s, median 1.0 s; shortest 0.3 s, longest 2.5 s. |
| Script | Approximately 29 detected sung words; 114 words/min over the whole piece, 156/min during vocal phrases. Automated lyric transcription is uncertain. No narrator or spoken explainer. |
| Voice | Intimate, light, melodic sung vocal in a medium register; the track leads all timing. Use a new licensed vocal or instrumental, never a voice imitation. |
| On screen | About one third portrait and performance footage, one third cut-paper/photo collage, one fifth product grid and object reveal, the rest spare graphic outro (visual estimate from the 15 shot tiles). |
| Captions | Cutout editorial serif lyric fragments plus tiny yellow handwritten/serif baseline text; individual words are printed on white scraps, not conventional subtitles. |
| Sound | Continuous music-forward indie-pop song; no reliable separate cut SFX. Measured integrated loudness −7.9 LUFS and true peak +1.2 dBFS in the source. |
| Structure | Portrait lyric hook → playful command → collage bridge → object/search sequence → person wearing object → sparse musical sign-off. No direct CTA. |
