A Product Bug Told as a Detective Case
A noir cartoon case turns session-replay evidence, AI tagging, and a reviewed code fix into a product story.
Field notes / why it works
The first three cuts in three seconds introduce a customer, label her, and begin a browser action before the 404 reveal at 0:06. The mystery then earns its solution with visible proof: a classifier request at 0:42, tagged replays near 0:47, a repeated error pattern at 0:57, and a reviewed PR by 1:23. Four rapid use-case cards at 1:34–1:45 broaden the product after the case has closed.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A wisecracking, fictional investigator narrates a customer problem as a case. A stylized cartoon sets up the mystery; real product UI becomes the evidence, and a verified fix closes the case. The product name arrives after the stakes, around 0:31, and its broader uses appear only after the main outcome at 1:25.
Why it works
- The first 13 seconds turn a mundane broken link into a crime scene: tiny figure → giant pink label → browser URL → illustrated 404. The viewer gets a question before a product pitch.
- The middle shows an evidence chain: classifier form at 0:42, tagged recordings at 0:47–0:57, issue investigation at 1:16, and PR merge at 1:23. Each claim gets a different visual proof.
- The ending expands from one solved case to four adjacent jobs in about 11 seconds (1:34–1:45), then shows a natural-language setup at 1:47–1:50.
