Expressive Faces to Event Countdown
A 12-second event teaser that morphs abstract eye marks into a colourful character cast before a stark countdown and identity card.
Field notes / why it works
The first 0.75 seconds turn two oversized symbols into eyes inside a circle, creating a quick recognition puzzle. Three expression changes around 1.75–2.25 seconds and a burst of coloured faces by 3 seconds keep the single animated shot lively, before the large countdown at about 6 seconds resolves to a small event mark at about 9 seconds.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
Two abstract marks on a pale field rush into a circular face. The face's eyes change expression, a surrounding cast of coloured faces appears, and the film resolves to a large countdown followed by a small event lockup. The promise arrives visually by 0:03 and becomes explicit with “1 day.” around 0:06.
Why it works
- The first change starts before 0:00.50: giant black asterisks become small eyes inside a circular mask, a visual pattern interrupt that reads with sound off.
- Expression changes at roughly 1.75, 2.00, and 2.25 seconds make a single simple face feel alive; the colour expansion at 2.50–3.00 seconds resets attention.
- Large “1 day.” at about 0:06 answers the visual tease; the restrained event mark at about 0:09 gives the countdown a destination.
