Manus 2.0 capability cascade
A widescreen launch film moves from a minimal version reveal to game, automation, app, and agent proofs through crisp chapter cards and a music-led montage.
Field notes / why it works
The product appears by 1.25 seconds, and the frame switches from dark to white to oversized type by 2.25 seconds. Clean feature cards at 0:31, 1:06, and 2:04 lead into concrete game, automation, and agent demonstrations; 51 shots and 32 internal changes keep the 2:46 film moving. The ending widens from a single agent interface to a street of labeled agents at 2:38, making the product vision visible.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A wide-screen product announcement opens as a spare name reveal, then expands into successive proof worlds: a dramatic render, an editor and generated games, automation and desktop apps, then agent collaboration and a real-world network. Its promise is breadth: the new version can build, automate, collaborate, and act across contexts. Proof appears before any detailed explanation, and chapter labels keep the nearly wordless film legible.
Why it works
- The product and version appear within 1.25 seconds; black-to-white inversion and the isolated word “See” reset attention by 2.25 seconds.
- A feature is repeatedly named, then demonstrated: game-building card at 0:31, game footage from 0:33–1:04; automation card at 1:06, workflow proof by 1:10.
- Each later chapter raises scale: single creations, connected apps, collaborating agents at 2:04, then a street filled with agents at 2:38 (interpretation of visual progression).
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 16:9 · 1280×720 · 30 fps · 166.5 s |
| Pace | 51 detected shots, 50 cuts; 18.0–20.9 cuts/min allowing uncertain changes; 29.6 picture changes/min; mean shot 3.26 s, median 2.03 s |
| Script | Text-led. Eleven machine-detected speech words over the full film, about 4 wpm overall; the transcript is too sparse for a narration-based word budget. |
| Voice | No sustained narrator. A brief countdown near 0:04 and possible closing speech at 2:43 are detected; the latter is uncertain. |
| On screen | Approximately half interface, app, and game proof; one quarter scenic or 3D spectacle; one quarter typography, title cards, and brand graphics (estimated from sheets). No presenter. |
| Captions | No karaoke subtitles; short centered headline cards and small labels inside demos. |
| Sound | Continuous music-like bed, roughly 129 BPM; integrated −13.4 LUFS; no reliable pattern of effects on cuts. |
| Structure | Seven beats: identity → promise → visual proof → game chapter → automation/app chapter → collaboration → vision. No explicit CTA. |
