Self-planning calendar launch film

A code-rendered calendar launch film turns one red dot into a working UI, then resolves three product benefits into a geometric logo.

Field notes / why it works

The crimson field collapses to a tiny dot within 0.5 seconds, then becomes a functional point in the calendar as event cards accumulate by 3 seconds. A black logo reset at 6 seconds separates the reveal from a causal UI demo, while three concise benefits at 18.6, 20.3 and 22.5 seconds land beside visual proof. The final 26.4–33 second assembly returns to the opening geometric language.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A minimal geometric mark opens into a dense, believable software interface. After an early logo reveal, three short benefit statements are proved through animated UI, and the film resolves back to the mark. The promise becomes legible by 2.25 seconds with “Your week”; the fuller self-planning proposition appears on the logo card around 7.5–8.3 seconds.

Why it works

  • A red full-frame field collapses to a dot by 0.50 seconds, creating a visual pattern interrupt before any copy.
  • The calendar fills with small, specific events from 1.25–3.0 seconds, making the product feel functional before the 6-second identity cut.
  • Short claims at 18.6, 20.3 and 22.5 seconds pair directly with schedule motion, then the graphic parts resolve into the logo at 29–33 seconds.

Pace4 measured shots, 3 cuts (5.5/min), 7 internal step changes; 18.2 picture changes/min; mean shot 8.25 s
ScriptNo spoken script; approximately five brief on-screen claims plus small UI labels
VoiceNone; two isolated transcript guesses conflict with the no-speech result and visible text
On screen100% designed motion graphics and simulated product UI; no person or footage visible
CaptionsNone; bold editorial benefit cards and tiny functional UI labels
SoundContinuous tonal, music-like bed (measured); about −14.2 LUFS integrated, −2.1 dBFS true peak
StructureGeometric hook → populated UI → logo/positioning → three use-case proofs → shape-based sign-off; no in-video CTA
