Starter prompt / by Refs

The creator shared no short prompt. This is ours for making a film like it with Claude.

Build a five-minute lyric video for the song at {AUDIO_FILE}, with lyrics from {LYRICS_FILE}, as a single HTML canvas piece. Portray the singer as a glowing orange dot-matrix portrait sampled from {CHARACTER_IMAGE}, its dots swelling and flickering with the vocal, on a near-black backdrop with drifting embers. Set the song title in wide-tracked monospace capitals over a small serif subtitle, reveal each lyric line on cue, then capture frames with headless Chrome and encode 1920×1080 with ffmpeg.

Field notes / why it works

The first 3 seconds move from a dot-matrix singer and single large lyric word into a shrinking word tunnel, making the character legible before the first detected cut at 0:13. Although there are only 14 detected shots in 5:00, lyric reveals and internal animation refresh long visual worlds; the 3:39–4:22 human bridge changes the emotional scale before the final refrain.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A voiced animated character performs a playful argument in song. Each lyrical claim becomes a different visual metaphor: an intimate introduction becomes a tunnel of words, then a series of theatrical diagrams, illustrated scenes, and type-led refrains. The viewer gets a music video and a sequence of visual jokes and emotional pivots rather than a lecture.

Why it works

  • The opening establishes a character and premise in under 4 seconds: a close avatar, a tiny title, then a large first lyric beside the face at 1.0–1.8 seconds.
  • Long scenes still develop internally: 14 detected shots over 5:00 contain 17 clear graphic steps, with typography and object motion keeping verses active.
  • A vivid late pivot at 3:29–4:06 moves from abstract debate to a human-scale scene, then the final chorus returns to the same character and refrain.
