Field notes / why it works

The complete sixteen-tile promise is visible at 0:00, so viewers understand the collection immediately. By about 2.75 seconds, parallel changes across player, chart, dock, type, and image tiles deliver multiple small payoffs within one uncut eight-second frame; the density invites inspection and likely replay (inferred).

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A warm off-white poster holds a 4×4 gallery of sixteen miniature interface animations. The title promises a numbered collection immediately; every tile moves inside a fixed card while the overall poster remains stationary. The viewer can scan the whole grid or replay to inspect a single example.

Why it works

  • The title and all sixteen labeled examples are visible at 0:00, so the promise is clear before any animation finishes.
  • From roughly 0:01 to 0:02.75, many tiles reach recognizable second states at once: a player appears, search results populate, bars become a chart, and a masked image reveals itself. This makes the static camera feel busy without cuts.
  • The 8-second duration gives a viewer little time to inspect sixteen demonstrations; revisiting individual tiles is a plausible replay incentive (inferred).
