From First Spark to Claude
A code-rendered, text-led brand film turns AI history into a dark-to-light product chronology and planetary finale.
Field notes / why it works
The near-black opening holds one tiny sentence until the first luminous point at 0:10, making a slow start feel intentional. Branching diagrams at 0:42–0:51 turn abstract stakes into a visual choice; the ivory product timeline at 1:42–2:57 then gives concrete proof before the sunrise and globe at 2:59–3:29 deliver an emotional payoff. Four detected shots contain 18 internal changes, so the film evolves without frantic cutting.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A 3:44, text-led cinematic origin story starts in near-blackness with humanity's first controlled fire, follows a branching history of AI and its risks, switches to a bright chronology of Claude products, then ends on Earth and a compact brand statement. Its engine is a scale shift: one small spark becomes a network, then a timeline, then a planetary implication.
Why it works
- It earns a large theme through restraint: black screen at 0:00, the first small line only around 0:01.3, and a single glowing point by 0:10.
- Diagrams turn abstract stakes into visible choices: paths branch at 0:42–0:51, then the image resolves into brand values and a paper at 1:03–1:18.
- The switch from dark, cosmic graphics to cream product cards around 1:42–1:50 gives the chronology a clear second act; the sunrise at 2:59 and globe at 3:21 restore emotion before the end card.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 1280×720, 16:9 · 224 seconds · 60 fps source |
| Pace | 4 detected shots, 3 definite cuts = 0.8 cuts/min; counting 9 uncertain changes gives 0.8–3.2 cuts/min. 18 internal step changes; about 5.6 picture changes/min. Mean detected shot 56.0 s. |
| Script | Sparse Chinese on-screen prose and milestone labels; no measurable spoken script or wpm. |
| Voice | None detected; the film relies on reading, music, and visual pacing. |
| On screen | Fully designed graphics: roughly 45% dark diagrams and star-field motifs, 35% cream timeline/UI cards, 20% horizon, globe, and end card (visual estimate). No presenter. |
| Captions | No dialogue captions. Small serif story lines, thin data labels, occasional centered statement; English product names use editorial serif. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal, cinematic bed; measured roughly 96 BPM, −14.2 LUFS integrated, −1.2 dBFS true peak. The post says score and effects were synthesized in code. |
| Structure | 6 major beats; emotional payoff at 2:59–3:29, brand end card 3:30–3:44; no spoken CTA or loop. |
