A Word Becomes a World: Three Minutes of AI History
A narrated, code-rendered AI history that grows one glowing word into diagrams, interfaces, senses and a networked world.
Starter prompt / by Refs
The creator shared no short prompt. This is ours for making a film like it with Claude.
Make a {LENGTH}-minute explainer video about {TOPIC} in Remotion (React and TypeScript), with every frame drawn in code as SVG and canvas. Write the script, generate the narration with an open-source text-to-speech model, and compose a simple score in Python. Build each diagram up on the narration's key words and render at 1920×1080, 30 fps.Field notes / why it works
A nearly black opening develops a lone light and drifting words by 0:02, turning the 0:16 connection reveal into a visual answer. The same glowing motif survives 24 internal graphic changes as the film advances through paper proof at 0:26, chat and globe at 1:10–1:17, and tools at 2:09. Long narration pauses and a final question at 2:46 give the dense history room to land.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A quiet, cinematic, narrated explainer turns a technical timeline into a visual fable. One tiny word glows in a near-black field, then connects to sentences, papers, model graphs, chat interfaces, a globe, senses, code and an orbiting system. The viewer follows the same motif through each leap and ends on an open question rather than an instruction to buy or subscribe.
Why it works
- The opening grants the eye a small mystery: almost-black at 0:00, a dim horizon and lone light by 0:00.25, then drifting words by about 0:02. The subject becomes clear only as the narration reaches the 2017 turning point at 0:16.
- Every abstract milestone gets a distinct proof image: connected words at 0:18–0:23, a research paper at 0:26, scaling model constellations at 0:43–0:47, answer ranking at 1:03, and a chat window/globe at 1:10–1:17.
- The single glowing token persists through changing systems; 24 measured internal picture steps over 180 seconds make the progression legible without fast cutting. Later resets at 1:41 (letter puzzle), 2:09 (tools), and 2:30 (networked sphere) renew curiosity.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 1280×720, 16:9 · 3:00.1 · 30 fps |
| Pace | 2 detected shots, 1 cut (0.3/min), 24 graphic steps, 8.3 total picture changes/min; detected mean shot 90.0 s. Treat the shots as continuous motion-design sequences, not static holds. |
| Script | 269 measured words · 93 wpm across runtime, about 152 wpm while talking · 27 short sentences, 10 words on average · one question · nine number mentions. |
| Voice | Low-register, intimate, deliberate story narrator; median pitch 108 Hz, broad expressive movement. No visible speaker. |
| On screen | Approximately 100% code-drawn typography, diagrams and simulated interface; no talking head, stock footage or camera footage visible. |
| Captions | Selective one-line editorial serif subtitles near bottom centre; key words sometimes warm coral/italic. Tiny monospaced labels are part of diagrams, not karaoke captions. |
| Sound | Tonal, music-like bed throughout at roughly 12 dB below voice; −15.0 LUFS integrated, −1.1 dBFS true peak. Individual effects cannot be confirmed from the supplied measurements. |
| Structure | Eight narrative beats; transformation and chat are middle payoffs, the question at 2:36 and final title at 2:50–3:00 close the story. No CTA. |
