Waiting Is Waste: An Inference Launch Film

A 26-second AI-generated launch film turns inference delay into a timer, then answers it with oversized type, data grids, and a spare brand reveal.

Field notes / why it works

The 0:00–0:03 simulated request makes viewers experience the wait, with a timer rising to 5.86 seconds before the giant problem verdict at 0:03.3–0:04.5. A 31% to 94% chart contrast at 0:06.7–0:07.7 and a large throughput card near 0:12.8 provide concrete proof before the brand appears around 0:14. The film stays readable through only four measured shots but seven internal graphic changes.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A minimal, almost silent interface demonstration makes the viewer feel a delay before a giant typographic verdict names the problem. Data graphics then turn the abstract problem into a measurable cost, a brand reveal reframes the solution, and a two-part line delivers the payoff.

Why it works

  • The first 3 seconds imitate a live AI request: the prompt completes by 0:00.75, a thinking state arrives near 0:01, and the elapsed counter climbs to 5.86 seconds by 0:02.75. The wait itself becomes the hook.
  • A sharp contrast lands at 0:03.3–0:04.5: giant navy WAITING, then white WASTE. on violet. The change names the pain before explaining it.
  • Evidence escalates from a 31% waiting chart at 0:06.7 to 94% at 0:07.7 and a 12,480 tok/s card around 0:12.8, then resolves into the brand and removal claim at 0:14–0:20. These figures belong to the reference and require new substantiation for another product.

Platform · aspect · lengthX · 16:9 · 26.0 s · source 1280×720 at 30 fps; design slate itself reads 1920×1080
Pace4 measured shots, 3 cuts, 6.9 cuts/min; 7 graphic steps within shots, about 23 picture changes/min; mean shot 6.5 s, median 4.23 s
ScriptPrimarily on-screen copy. No reliable narration to pace by words/minute; opening is a short user prompt, middle uses terse claims and figures, ending uses a two-part line.
VoiceNo voice is needed. The automatic transcript claims an unrelated eight-word sign-off at 0:24.2, with low confidence and collapsed word times; treat it as unverified.
On screen100% designed interface, infographic, and kinetic typography; no visible presenter or camera footage
CaptionsNone; type is the main content, with giant all-caps verdict cards and small monospaced production labels
SoundAudio present; an approximately 121 BPM pulse is suggested by analysis (rough estimate). Integrated −19.5 LUFS; true peak −1.1 dBFS.
StructureSimulated delay → problem word → quantified proof → brand explanation → payoff → final title slate. No explicit CTA.
