Starter prompt / by Refs

The creator shared no short prompt. This is ours for making a film like it with Claude.

Imagine what an AI model's short-video feed would be full of, and animate it as a 45-second vertical cartoon at 1080×1920. Open on a cute orange starburst character lying in bed at 3 a.m., face lit by its phone; every swipe cuts to a full-screen parody clip with captions, like and comment counters, and a quick joke about life as an AI. Draw everything in code with flat vector shapes, add synthesized swipe sounds and tiny music loops, render headlessly and encode with ffmpeg.

Field notes / why it works

The 0:00–0:04 bedroom setup makes a familiar late-night impulse legible before the feed opens. Six contrasting miniature worlds from 0:04–0:35 refresh the palette and joke every 4–8 seconds while a consistent phone interface makes the changes easy to follow. The nested-feed turn at 0:34.8 leads to a personal message and a quiet five-second exterior coda, giving the anthology a narrative payoff.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

An anthropomorphic character checks a phone in bed at 3:07 a.m. and falls through an imagined short-video feed. Each swipe opens a self-contained visual joke from the character's world; the final detour returns to the character and a quiet exterior image. The opening promises the pleasure of discovering what this unusual character watches, visually, before the first feed clip at 0:04.

Why it works

  • The 0:00–0:04 dark-to-bright bedroom reveal sets a familiar late-night habit and a character with a recognizable problem: one more video. The first internal change is at 0:02.25.
  • From 0:04 to 0:39, roughly six different feed genres offer repeated novelty inside one consistent phone UI: tactile brackets, fruit, dancing punctuation, sorting ducks, a coding cat and a hatching egg.
  • At 0:34.8 the feed becomes recursive, then at 0:39 returns to the bedroom and at 0:42 moves outside. That late structural turn gives the sequence an ending beyond another swipe.

Pace10 measured shots; 9 cuts, plus 2 uncertain changes; 11.5–14 cuts/min; 24.2 total picture changes/min; 4.7 s average shot
ScriptNo reliable spoken script. Short on-screen labels, thought bubble and feed captions carry the story; keep most phrases under 6 words.
VoiceNo clear speaking voice; transcript's 8 low-confidence words are likely audio misrecognition.
On screenNearly 100% code-drawn flat cartoon; bedroom frame, phone-feed vignettes, phone recursion, chat card, bedroom return, exterior coda.
CaptionsNative-to-scene text, not subtitles: tiny feed UI, playful rounded headlines, speech/thought bubbles.
SoundContinuous tonal music-like bed, roughly 121 BPM (low-confidence estimate); no clear cut-synced impact pattern; −14.4 LUFS, −1.0 dBFS true peak.
StructureBedroom setup → six-feed-joke anthology → recursive turn → personal message → quiet coda.
