Small Print: Requests Become a Constellation

A code-drawn 29-second motion poem turns everyday text requests into a quiet human story through typography, shape morphs, and synthesized music.

Field notes / why it works

The first 3 seconds present a coral center surrounded by drifting, readable task scraps, creating a visual puzzle without a cut. Around 0:07 the palette turns blue and the text becomes increasingly personal imagery, culminating in a cat-like figure near 0:18. The sparse return to cream at 0:25–0:29 gives the final everyday request emotional weight without an explanatory voiceover.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A square, illustrated motion poem opens on a coral radial symbol surrounded by scattered blue strips of everyday requests. It moves from a busy cream paper field into a blue, starry interior where one small phrase becomes a sequence of emotional illustrations; it then returns to the familiar cream field, where a quieter request changes the meaning of the pile. The post says an AI model wrote the story, drew every frame in JavaScript, and composed the music without image assets.

Why it works

  • At 0:00 the central coral burst and many blue text scraps present a visual puzzle. The scraps drift for six seconds, giving viewers time to read and search for a pattern without cuts.
  • Around 0:07, the palette flips from cream to dusty blue. A small request is isolated, then visualized as a bread shape (0:07), text swarm (0:11), cat (0:18), and connected lines (0:22): an escalation from task to relationship.
  • At 0:25.2 the cream composition returns; by 0:26.8 a final small request replaces the prior scene. The last beat makes the first clutter feel newly personal and can lead into a replay (inferred).

PaceOne continuous animated shot; 0 hard cuts/min; measured step changes at 25.2 and 26.8 s (4.1/min); additional illustrated morphs and palette shift within the shot
ScriptNo reliable spoken script. Short, scattered on-screen fragments, mostly 2–6 words; one longer personal phrase near 25.6 s.
VoiceNone reliably audible; the automatic 21-word, 692 wpm transcript is a likely music hallucination.
On screen100% code-drawn motion graphics; no face, footage, or screen recording.
CaptionsNo dialogue captions; blue paper-strip labels with off-white monospaced type.
SoundContinuous gentle synthesized instrumental, roughly 114 BPM (low-confidence tempo); no obvious cut hits; measured −15.2 LUFS, −4.2 dBFS true peak.
StructureBusy visual question → personal turn → series of visual metaphors → return to the everyday. No spoken CTA or end card.
