The Server-Room Showdown
A stylized 3D contest becomes an absurd sci-fi battle, then resolves as a deadpan title-card joke.
Starter prompt / by Refs
The creator shared no short prompt. This is ours for making a film like it with Claude.
Script a one-minute 3D short in Blender with Python: two stylized cartoon characters play poker at a green felt table under a single hanging lamp, deep inside a dark server room lined with blinking racks and magenta accent light. Build the characters from simple rounded shapes, keyframe dealing, chip pushes, a bluff and a reaction, and cut between a wide shot and close-ups. Render with Eevee at 1920×1080, 30 fps, and encode with ffmpeg.
Field notes / why it works
The 0:00 wide shot makes both rivals, the table, and the theatrical room readable before the first cut at 0:03; the neon premise appears within the first second. A prop reveal at 0:06, transformation at 0:14–0:20, rapid five-shot volley at 0:30–0:32, and reversal at 0:51–0:55 keep changing the apparent outcome. A five-second black end card converts the visual result into a concise punchline.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
Two stylized characters face each other in a single theatrical room. An innocuous tabletop contest introduces a strange object, then rapidly becomes a spectacular, deliberately ridiculous showdown; the last five seconds reveal a concise product-like punchline. The film communicates through action, reactions, lighting, and music, with almost no dependable dialogue.
Why it works
- A clean wide shot establishes both opponents, the green table, the dark server room, and the single cone of light before the first cut at 2.97 seconds. The pink “AGI ROULETTE” sign appears within the first second, supplying a curiosity gap.
- The scale keeps changing: hand/object insert at 0:06, huge facial reactions at 0:08 and 0:12, transformation at 0:14–0:20, then light-weapon action at 0:23–0:38. Thirty-six shots in 61 seconds sustain momentum.
- The climax reverses expectation at 0:51–0:55: the suited challenger collapses while the transformed rival survives. A five-second black end card turns that reversal into a compact joke.

|---|---|
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 16:9 · 1280 × 720 · 30 fps · 61.0 s |
| Pace | 36 shots; 35 measured cuts, 34.4 cuts/min; up to 44.3/min if ten uncertain action changes are counted; mean shot 1.7 s, median 1.4 s |
| Script | No reliable spoken script. Whisper heard repeated counting and one exclamation, but detected language with only 0.217 probability and gave impossible word durations; treat words as uncertain audio events. |
| Voice | At most brief character vocalization, with no narrator or dialogue carrying the plot (inferred). |
| On screen | Approximately 85% animated character action/reaction and 15% black title card; one room, many framings. |
| Captions | No subtitles. Only a pink neon scene sign and a two-line final title. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal/music-like bed, measured −12.8 LUFS integrated, −0.6 dBFS true peak; individual effects cannot be confirmed from the sheets. |
| Structure | Setup → object reveal → transformation → fight → reversal → hard-stop end card; payoff around 0:54, no explicit CTA. |
