Agentcard's restaurant payment sketch
A comic restaurant encounter turns agent payment jargon into a tangible problem, then reveals a card and shows a purchase completed.
Field notes / why it works
A single close-up holds until 0:07.95 while a normal order veers into payment jargon, making the mismatch funny before any product claim. The explainer grounds the problem in the restaurant at 0:14–0:27, then a card/UI reveal at 0:28–0:34 and a mostly quiet proof montage at 0:43–0:54 show the mechanism and outcome. Fourteen shots and 11 internal graphic changes keep the 60.7-second sketch visually active without rushing its setup.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A customer tries to use futuristic jargon in an ordinary purchase. The awkward encounter makes a real payment problem tangible; a confident suited explainer then enters the same scene, names the product, shows its mechanism, and returns to the purchase for proof. The product promise arrives around 0:28, after the sketch has created a reason to care.
Why it works
- The first 8 seconds hold on one face as a routine food order swerves into protocol jargon at 0:04.4; the mismatch opens a comic question without an opening title.
- At 0:14–0:27, the spokesperson addresses the viewer and challenges the abstract solution while the same restaurant remains visible; the argument stays attached to a concrete transaction.
- At 0:28–0:34, a card and wallet overlay explain the mechanism; at 0:43–0:51, a quiet montage shows the payment path before the 0:54.5–1:00.7 end card states the benefit.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 16:9, 1280×720 · 60.7 s · 30 fps |
| Pace | 14 shots, 13 clear cuts; 12.8–15.8 cuts/min allowing uncertain changes; 23.7 picture changes/min; 4.34 s mean, 2.65 s median shot |
| Script | 140 measured words · 140 wpm across runtime, about 238 wpm while talking · 20 short sentences averaging 7 words · three questions |
| Voice | Several speaking roles: casual, slightly exasperated customer; composed, wry spokesperson; brief service-worker reply. Low measured median pitch (122 Hz) with animated movement. |
| On screen | About 70% staged restaurant dialogue/product pitch, 18% payment and agent inserts, 12% black product end card (estimated from shot durations). |
| Captions | Small white sans-serif dialogue subtitles, usually one short phrase near the lower middle; selected words and technical terms receive larger editorial or UI treatment. |
| Sound | Continuous faint tonal/music-like bed, about 12.6 dB under speech; dialogue leads; no clear impact effects on cuts. |
| Structure | Seven beats: absurd setup → jargon failure → problem → product mechanism → human payoff → payment montage → branded benefit. |
