Devin Desktop white-space launch film
A silent product handoff film pairs a logo morph, sparse type cards, and light-theme interface proof.
Field notes / why it works
The old mark becomes the new identity and the announcement is legible by about 0:03, so the silent hook lands quickly. A 0:06 category card leads into interface proof at 0:08–0:17; a quantified benefit at 0:21.9 and compatibility message at 0:24.8 renew attention before the 0:38.6 URL. The detector finds only one hard cut, but ten internal visual changes give this a deliberate designed rhythm.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A silent, white-background launch film turns an existing product identity into a new one, then alternates restrained title cards with bright software views. A specific benefit and compatibility proof interrupt the tour before a feature recap and URL close.
Why it works
- The first three seconds turn a small old mark into the new mark and explain the change in one sentence by about 0:03; the viewer gets the announcement without narration.
- The 0:06 title sets up the 0:08–0:17 command-center and IDE footage, so the claim immediately has product evidence.
- The 0:21.9 numerical benefit, 0:24.8 compatibility card, and 0:38.6 URL each change the viewer's reason to keep watching.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 16:9, 1280×720 · 40.5 s · 30 fps |
| Pace | 2 detected hard shots, 1 cut (1.5 cuts/min), 20.27 s mean detected shot; 10 internal step changes, about 16.3 total picture changes/min. Smooth fades and UI swaps make the detector's shot count a poor description of perceived pacing. |
| Script | No spoken words; about seven short on-screen message states plus product UI and end card. |
| Voice | None; no people appear. The detected pitch figures in facts.md come from nonspeech audio and do not describe a voice. |
| On screen | White title and logo cards interleaved with light-theme product UI captures; brief code editor and cursor-led agent view. |
| Captions | No subtitles. Centered black or mid-gray sentence-case display text and small feature labels. |
| Sound | Music-like bed, roughly 91 BPM (heuristic); −10.5 LUFS integrated, +0.6 dBFS measured true peak. No speech. Individual effects cannot be verified from the sheets. |
| Structure | Identity reveal → category title → UI proof → quantitative claim → integration proof → feature recap → branded URL. |
