An Overnight Brief, Built From Three Sources
A restrained 32-second feature launch turns an overnight promise into a three-source research brief and product proof.
Field notes / why it works
The two-line benefit is readable by 0:00.75, and the advancing, circled clock at 0:02.25–0:02.75 makes the overnight premise visual. Three compact source cards accumulate by 0:14.3, then a handwritten output emphasis and visible brief by 0:21.3 turn a broad claim into an input-to-result demonstration. Four long shots and a cream/charcoal/lime palette keep the story calm and legible without voiceover.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A quiet product launch film claims the software completes a useful task while the customer is away. A night-time clock makes the promise tangible; a cream-background sequence shows three research sources converging into a personalized brief; the product result and bright brand card finish the proof.
Why it works
- The benefit is legible by 0:00.75, after a two-line serif headline types on against charcoal.
- A changing 11:52–11:59 pm clock at 0:02.25–0:02.75 turns “overnight” into a visual event, with a hand-drawn ring for emphasis.
- The source cards at 0:11.5–0:14.3 and result at 0:21.3 give the claim a simple input-to-output demonstration.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 1280×720, 16:9 · 32.1 s at 25 fps |
| Pace | 4 shots, 3 cuts / 5.6 cuts per minute; 4 measured internal steps / 13.1 picture changes per minute; mean shot 8.02 s, median 7.02 s |
| Script | On-screen copy carries the story. No reliable spoken script or spoken WPM. Keep each main card to roughly 2–8 words. |
| Voice | No narration or speaking person detected; two isolated “You” transcript detections do not establish speech. |
| On screen | Designed motion typography, small source cards, one product-result view, and a brand card; no visible presenter. |
| Captions | No dialogue captions. Central, editorial serif headline cards and a single rough handwritten emphasis. |
| Sound | Tonal music-like bed (measured); rough tempo 89 BPM (low-confidence heuristic). Integrated −17.3 LUFS, true peak −0.9 dBFS. |
| Structure | Promise → night-time time cue → source gathering → personalized output → closing line → brand end card. Result shown by ~0:21; no in-video spoken CTA. |
