Classic Books Become Playable Stories

A literary product launch moves from a spare text promise and book-cover parade into a two-path story UI demonstration.

Field notes / why it works

A two-clause text hook establishes the passive-to-active shift by 0:02.3, and a brisk cover parade at 0:11–0:20 makes the catalog recognizable. From 0:24 to 1:01, the interface shows mode choice, typed input, reply, and a longer generated branch, so the promise has visible cause and effect. Eleven internal changes keep the 54.58-second final shot moving without sacrificing UI readability.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A restrained launch film turns a familiar passive activity into an interactive one. A tiny type-only provocation gives way to recognizable cultural objects, then a patient screen demonstration proves two ways to participate: follow the established path or make a new one.

Why it works

  • The opening delivers the format change in two short clauses by 0:02.3, with no competing image.
  • A rapid book-cover shelf at 0:11–0:20 makes the catalog tangible before any interface is explained.
  • The 0:24–1:09 UI sequence proves the feature through a selection, a chat, a user input, and a generated story outcome.

Pace7 measured shots, 6 cuts; 4.8–6.4 cuts/min allowing two uncertain book-montage changes; 13 internal steps and about 15.2 total picture changes/min. Mean shot 10.72 s; shot 7 runs 54.58 s.
ScriptOn-screen copy carries the message. Machine transcription reports 20 low-confidence words, but these do not form reliable narration; spoken WPM is not a useful production target.
VoiceNo identifiable presenter or explanatory voice in the visual evidence. Music-first treatment; any detected vocal fragments may be soundtrack or recognition error (inferred).
On screen100% designed typography, book-object motion, and product UI; no talking head.
CaptionsNo speech subtitles; small centered black sans-serif statements and serif in-app story text.
SoundContinuous tonal, music-like bed; roughly 99 BPM (measured heuristic), with no clear repeated cut effect. Integrated −11.7 LUFS; peak +0.2 dBFS in the source.
StructureContrarian promise → recognizable inventory → feature framing → two-mode UI proof → story expansion → quiet end line.
