Phone-to-Mac App Launch Demo
A wordless, filmed device demo proves an iPhone-to-Mac action in under three seconds, then ends on a minimal launch card.
Field notes / why it works
The first 2.5 seconds pair a phone gesture with a visible laptop response, making the feature understandable without narration. Ten cuts in the first 10 seconds keep the proof moving between input and result, while the 4.67-second final phone shot and 3-second availability card slow the pace for recall.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A silent, music-led launch film proves a cross-device app through a hand-to-screen action. It starts with both devices in one real desk setup, alternates tactile close-ups with the computer's response, then ends on the changed phone interface and a two-word availability card.
Why it works
- The phone and laptop share the opening frame; a fingertip enters at 0:01.1 and the laptop panel is visible by 0:02.0, so the claim is demonstrated before it needs explaining.
- The first 10 seconds contain 10 cuts, moving between physical input and visible output; the fast proof creates a cause-and-effect chain.
- The pace slows after 0:14.8 to show a second phone state, then a black end card at 0:19.4 makes the launch status easy to remember.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 16:9, 1280×720 · 22.4 s · 30 fps |
| Pace | 17 shots · 16 cuts · 42.9 cuts/min · 48.2 picture changes/min including 2 internal changes · mean shot 1.32 s |
| Script | No narration; only interface text and a closing availability message |
| Voice | None; the transcript's music label is not speech |
| On screen | Approximately 75% filmed desk, phone, hands, and laptop; 12% tight interface views; 13% end card (inferred from shots) |
| Captions | None; legible product UI carries the information |
| Sound | Music-like bed around 101 BPM (rough measurement); sound accents likely accompany many cuts (heuristic); −21.7 LUFS integrated, −10.6 dBFS true peak |
| Structure | Establish → gesture/result → secondary feature → changed interface → availability card |
