Bolt's Prototype-to-Product Launch Film
A silent, text-led launch film turns design-system inputs and polished page examples into a single merge-to-product payoff.
Field notes / why it works
The 0:00–0:04 oversized text reveal builds curiosity before naming a recognizable workflow problem, even though the first measured cut waits until 7.65 seconds. At 0:13–0:20 specific source tiles make the promise credible; from 0:24–0:43 two finished page examples and a merge-state animation turn an abstract feature into a visible result. A short logo-and-question close at 0:46–0:54 gives the claim a memorable finish.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A silent, designed product launch film first names an ugly workflow outcome, then shows familiar inputs becoming a polished deliverable. Large kinetic type and abstract gradients establish the claim; real interface and finished-work glimpses supply proof; one decisive merge action converts the prototype into the product.
Why it works
- The first line is assembled over 0:00–0:03, then resolves into a blunt problem card by roughly 0:04. The viewer has a reason to keep watching before any product name appears.
- At 0:08–0:24, abstract typography yields to buttons, fields, input labels, and source names. Those concrete items make the promised capability legible.
- The long 0:24–0:46 proof section shows two polished example pages, a merge control, and the result claim; the 0:46–0:54 logo and question cards compress social proof and recall.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 1280×720, 16:9 · 54.4 s at 30 fps |
| Pace | 8 measured shot groups, 7 certain cuts, 7.7–9.9 cuts/min allowing 2 uncertain changes; 9.9 measured picture changes/min. Mean group 6.81 s, median 5.3 s. Internal typography and web-page motion make the perceived pace faster. |
| Script | Screen text drives the film. No usable spoken script or spoken WPM; the single transcribed “You” at 0:07.1 is insufficient evidence of narration. |
| Voice | None required. No visible speaker. |
| On screen | Mostly motion graphics and kinetic type, with a short UI montage, two showcase page examples, and final brand/social-proof cards. No talking head. |
| Captions | No speech subtitles; oversized centered headline cards and small UI labels carry the copy. |
| Sound | Music-like bed around 117 BPM (rough estimate); −14.0 LUFS integrated and −0.9 dBFS true peak. No clear repeated cut SFX in the measurements. |
| Structure | Problem → tools/inputs → transformation → finished proof → merge payoff → validation → brand close. Payoff is visible around 0:32–0:43; brand at 0:50. |
