TagCon Icon System Reveal
A compact feature launch that turns a single icon into a colorful catalog, then proves its use inside the app.
Field notes / why it works
The opening transforms one white icon into a grid by 0:00.75, then sweeps it through three color families by 0:03.6, making the redesigned system immediately visible. Four sub-half-second icon cards at 0:06–0:07.4 add a burst of energy before slower UI examples from 0:09 to 0:22 prove how the icons work in tags and notes. The benefit card at 0:22 and brief brand close keep the 28.1-second announcement focused.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A branded product update reveals a redesigned icon system by moving from one oversized symbol to a dense catalog, isolating four vivid examples, then showing the icons used as tags in the actual app. The promise is primarily visual: many expressive choices that remain legible and useful in context. The feature's name arrives at about 8 seconds; the contextual payoff follows from about 9 to 24 seconds.
Why it works
- The opening red field and lone white pen become an icon wall by 0:00.75, then color spreads across it by 0:02.25–0:03.6. One object turns into a system without explanation.
- Four very short cards at 0:06.0–0:07.4 make distinct colors and icon personalities easy to scan; the 0:08.1 feature-name card resets attention.
- The second half proves use, not just appearance: a
buildtag at 0:09, selectedthinkat 0:10.9, a coloredtraveltag at 0:13.9, and amusictag inside a note at 0:20.9.
