Crush as a Breaking News Broadcast
A mock news bulletin launches Partiful Crush through satirical charts, street interviews, and a live notification payoff.
Field notes / why it works
A sober BREAKING package and a report claim establish the premise within 1.5 seconds, then two exaggerated charts delay the product answer until 0:13–0:15. The move to street interviews at 0:15 and a phone-notification turn at 1:05 give the 81.7-second sketch fresh settings and an in-story feature payoff.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A straight-faced, deliberately absurd news bulletin treats a product feature as a citywide social phenomenon. The desk invents a mystery, names the product at 0:13–0:15, sends a reporter into the street, and returns to the desk for a final joke and a teaser. It promises a funny answer to “what caused this?” while showing a notification as the feature's practical proof.
Why it works
- The first line claims a new report at 0:00, while a violet BREAKING graphic completes by about 0:01.5. The familiar news package makes the premise legible immediately.
- The product name is delayed until 0:13–0:15, after two exaggerated chart claims at 0:08–0:12. This opens and closes a short curiosity gap.
- A location switch at 0:15, interview montage from 0:30, and phone-notification turn at 1:05 refresh the scene without leaving the story world.

| Pace | 22 measured shots; 21 definite cuts = 15.4/min; 11 definite in-shot graphic changes = 23.5 picture changes/min. Detection also flagged 47 uncertain motion changes, so the possible cut range is 15.4–49.9/min. Mean shot 3.71 s; median 2.69 s. |
| Script | 252 transcribed words · 188 wpm overall, 246 wpm during speech · 31 short sentences averaging 8.1 words · 4 questions. Transcript has likely name and joke mishearings; follow the frames for visible wording. |
| Voice | Earnest medium-register desk anchor, quick field reporter, and conversational interviewees; all played as archetypes. |
| On screen | About 40% studio desk and 60% street interviews by time (inferred from the timed sheets); composited charts, phone and gag stills appear over the desk. |
| Captions | Short yellow bold phrase chunks near the lower middle, timed to speech; separate violet/white broadcast headlines and lower thirds. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal bed detected under speech; exact music style is unconfirmed. Integrated −15.9 LUFS; true peak −0.4 dBFS. |
| Structure | Desk claim → absurd evidence → product reveal → street reporting and testimonials → notification turn → desk tag and next-story tease. |
