From Painted Image to Editable Poster

A silent Figma feature launch turns painterly artwork into recolored, individually editable shapes and a finished poster.

Field notes / why it works

The opening gives the artwork three close-up shots before introducing the editor around 0:07, making the input desirable. The demo then offers progressively stronger proof: color controls at 0:12.8, individual selections around 0:20.7, and visible vector nodes at 0:26.7. A burst of variants around 0:30 leads to a finished phone layout at 0:40.5.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A silent, music led feature announcement starts inside the texture of a painted flower, then pulls back to show that the image can be edited as individual shapes in a design tool. The proof progresses from raster image to color controls, selected contours, a recomposed poster, and a phone mockup.

Why it works

  • The first 3 seconds fill the frame with petals and brush texture before any UI appears; this makes the source image desirable on its own.
  • The claim gets visual proof in stages: a color panel at 0:12.8, isolated shapes at 0:20.7, and visible vector nodes at 0:26.7.
  • The 0:40.5 phone mockup shows a practical finished use, following about 30 seconds of editing rather than ending on a feature panel.
