Reference Anything, Then Edit the Result
A one-minute Vidu feature launch that proves reference-driven generation through matched visual transformations and a visible lighting control.
Field notes / why it works
A moving canyon result opens at 0:00 and changes subject at 0:01.9, making the reference concept visible before the title. Distinct examples progress from character and effects to animal, material, four rapid seasonal variants at 0:30–0:37, and a lighting slider at 0:41–0:46; the slower 13.5-second brand close gives the claim room to land.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
An approximately one-minute, speech-free launch film opens inside a spectacular generated result, then reveals a series of different things that can act as creative references. Each example has a short on-screen label and a visibly changed output. The film narrows from big transformations to editable controls, then closes on a broad product claim and logo.
Why it works
- It starts with proof: a low, head-on race car charges through a dust-filled canyon at 0:00; the first major change arrives at 0:01.9, before explanation.
- The examples vary the kind of reference: character/action around 0:06–0:18, animal and texture around 0:18–0:30, seasons around 0:30–0:37, and lighting around 0:41–0:46. The viewer sees range instead of one repeated trick.
- The seasonal run uses four short shots, about 1.6–1.8 seconds each, before the quieter lighting adjustment and brand close. This acceleration and release makes the end feel earned.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Reference | |
|---|---|
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 1280×720, 16:9 · 59.6 s · 30 fps |
| Pace | 16 measured shots; 15 certain cuts = 15.1/min; up to 26.2/min if every uncertain event is a cut. Mean shot 3.72 s; median 3.12 s. 20.1 certain picture changes/min including five changes inside shots. |
| Script | No reliable spoken script. The transcript's single “You” at 0:10.3 appears to be a false positive against the visual film. |
| Voice | None apparent; write for silent comprehension. |
| On screen | Full-bleed cinematic examples for most of 0:00–0:46; one split-layout effects example; a final abstract motion-graphics slate. |
| Captions | Short white capability labels or large all-caps season names; no sentence subtitles. |
| Sound | Continuous music-like bed (inferred from analysis); rough 99 BPM, low confidence. No clear cut-triggered effects. Measured -12.9 LUFS; true peak reported +2.3 dBFS. |
| Structure | Result-first hook → character/effects → animal/texture → four-season run → action/lighting controls → 13.5 s brand close. No spoken CTA. |
