A miniature city wakes for Black Friday
A 13.6-second Stripe teaser lets a dark skyline light up before a brief Black Friday event card.
Field notes / why it works
The locked, near-black skyline delays its visible light reveal until 8.85 seconds, making one scene change feel consequential. A reflective two-sentence voiceover creates the idea, then a hard cut at 10.13 seconds turns it into a readable event invitation for the final 3.43 seconds. The silhouette-to-illumination move and the late information card are both reusable teaser techniques.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A nearly black, wide miniature-looking city holds while a reflective voice makes a broad statement. The skyline illuminates late, then a single cut gives the viewer the concrete Black Friday to Cyber Monday window. The announcement arrives as a visual answer to the voice's open thought.
Why it works
- The first 8.85 s withhold the bright image; the visible change at 8.85 s supplies the payoff without rapid cutting.
- The narration starts only at 2.06 s, leaving an unusually quiet visual opening, and ends before the final card has finished holding.
- The 10.13 s cut replaces atmosphere with specific action: a large, high-contrast event line in a 3.43 s end shot.
