Sketch redesign: toolbar to live controls
A silent redesign launch that morphs an abstract toolbar into a detailed, cursor-led product demonstration.
Field notes / why it works
An orb becomes a recognizable tool strip by about 1.5–2 seconds, making the product category legible without a title. A full workspace appears at 6.5 seconds before the close feature tour at 13–33 seconds; 16 internal picture changes keep three long shots active, for roughly 28 picture changes per minute.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A silent, music-led redesign announcement starts with a soft abstract landscape and a mysterious pill of interface marks. The pill resolves into recognizable product tools, then the film enters a real design file and demonstrates increasingly specific controls. The product itself supplies the proof; the social post supplies the update invitation.
Why it works
- The first recognizable toolbar arrives by roughly 1.5–2 seconds, after the opening orb and pill create visual curiosity at 0–1.25.
- Broad interface context at 6.5–11.6 seconds makes the tiny controls meaningful before the close-up demonstrations at 14.6–33 seconds.
- Only 2 measured cuts divide 3 long scenes, yet 16 changes inside them keep the picture moving: about 28 picture changes per minute.
