Splice Instrument’s Colour-Room Musician Relay
A music-led launch film passes between colour-coded creator rooms, then reveals the instrument library and control UI.
Field notes / why it works
The opening green wide introduces the product through a small line-drawn title before the first cut at 2.8 seconds. New blue, warm and violet rooms refresh the picture at roughly 0:11, 0:21 and 0:36 while close-ups keep each creator's action tangible. The benefit narration arrives at 0:42.8, with full-screen library and instrument proof at 0:46–0:50 and a six-room brand mosaic to close.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A product launch film first behaves like a music video: four creators occupy separate monochrome rooms, each using a different instrument or production setup. Very short dialogue fragments and selective white text imply a creative conversation. Only in the last 13 seconds does the film explain the product, show the interface, and assemble the rooms under the brand.
Why it works
- The first 2.8 s holds on an unusually wide, green room and a working musician; the brand is visible, then a graphic grows from a small “Introducing” label into the product name by 1.75 s. That is a visual promise before a feature claim.
- Green → blue at 0:11 → coral/orange at 0:21–0:32 → violet at 0:36 keeps the same room grammar while renewing the image. There are 21 shots and 30.4 picture changes/minute, enough movement without losing the locations.
- The film withholds its direct product explanation until 0:42.8; full-screen library and instrument views at 0:46–0:50 make the preceding tactile performances feel actionable, then a six-room mosaic at 0:50.3 resolves the relay.
