Reference Images Become Cinematic Worlds
A Vidu feature launch that turns small source-image cards into a fast, genre-hopping sequence of generated results.
Field notes / why it works
The 0:00 action hook earns attention before the capability title at 0:04.5. Repeated white reference cards become distinct result scenes from 0:07 to 0:45, making the feature legible without narration; genre changes and two large claims at 0:44–0:47 prevent the 56-second montage from feeling repetitive. A banana reveal around 0:51 adds a final tonal surprise before the clean logo hold.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A widescreen, music-led launch film demonstrates a reference-to-result capability without a tutorial. It starts with apparently ordinary sports footage, then reveals small reference images and increasingly cinematic outputs: an athlete in changing worlds, a fantasy rider, a snowboarder, a sci-fi cockpit, aircraft, and a final visual joke. The promise becomes explicit at 0:04.5 with the centered product title; later cards assert range and consistency (0:44–0:47).
Why it works
- The first 1.4 s is readable action with no setup; a quick reddish flash changes the texture before the product title at 0:04.5.
- Reference cards lead into outcomes in three distinct domains: character/action around 0:07–0:14, fantasy and sports around 0:15–0:26, and aircraft around 0:38–0:45. The repeated relation teaches the feature visually.
- The escalation ends with two large claims at 0:44–0:47, then breaks the serious tone with an unexpected banana at 0:51 before the brand card at 0:54.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 16:9 · 1284×720 · 60 fps · 56.0 s |
| Pace | 17 measured shots; 16 cuts, 17.1–28.9 possible cuts/min including uncertain changes; 23.6 measured picture changes/min; mean shot 3.29 s, median 2.38 s |
| Script | No reliable spoken script. Auto-transcription returned three low-confidence fragments, including “You” at 0:51.5; treat them as noise for scripting. Three legible headline ideas carry the message. |
| Voice | None clearly identifiable; use no narration in the reusable version. |
| On screen | Moving generated scenes and composites dominate; small white reference cards, three bold text cards, and a brand end card punctuate them. |
| Captions | No spoken-word subtitles; centered uppercase white headline cards. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal music-like bed, roughly 139 BPM (heuristic), with probable transient accents on about half the cuts; −15.6 LUFS integrated, −1.2 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | 6 beats: cold action → feature name → reference/result montage → range montage → two proof claims → surprise and logo. No spoken CTA. |
