Astra free-trial cinematic montage

A 35-second launch film turns a free-trial offer into a rapid cinematic montage with recurring split comparisons and a held final CTA.

Field notes / why it works

The offer unfolds as giant words over three radically different scenes by 0:05.2, making the hook readable without speech. Twenty-six shots in 35.5 seconds keep resetting the image, while recurring vertical comparison lines around 0:06.6, 0:12.3 and 0:24.2 give the spectacle a proof device. A 4.92-second final shot slows the pace so the CTA and product mark can register.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A 35.5-second, music-led launch film opens with the three-word offer in huge type, then uses a fast, varied image montage to make a video enhancement product feel visually consequential. A thin before/after divider and a restrained product line turn the spectacle into proof; the offer returns over a final cinematic shot before a hard black ending.

Why it works

  • The offer is legible without sound: “TRY” fills the first frame, the product mark appears by 0:00.75, and the rest of the three-word promise arrives by 0:05.2.
  • Twenty-six shots and 42.2–43.9 cuts/min keep each example fresh; the first ten seconds contain eight cuts.
  • Several midfilm frames show a vertical split (0:06.6, 0:12.3, 0:13.1, 0:21.0, 0:24.2), giving the montage a concrete comparison device rather than relying only on attractive footage.

Pace26 shots; 42.2–43.9 cuts/min; 50.6 picture changes/min including five changes within shots; mean shot 1.37 s, median 1.15 s
ScriptNo reliable spoken script. The automated Russian transcript labels music and end credits as words; the visible film uses a few headline phrases.
VoiceNone evident; do not add narration to reproduce this format.
On screenApproximately 90% cinematic example footage and 10% hold/black; subjects span environments, portraits, action, fantasy and stylized close-ups (inferred from sheets).
CaptionsNo speech captions. Sparse, large, all-caps offer words and a small white feature line.
SoundContinuous music-like bed, approximately 125 BPM; −8.4 LUFS integrated, 0.1 dBFS measured true peak. No reliably identified cut effects.
Structure0:00–0:05 offer → 0:05–0:12 variety → 0:12–0:23 proof/claim → 0:23–0:29 final escalation → 0:29–0:34 CTA → 0:33.7 black.
