Calligraphy Builds a Living Grid
A square calligraphic motion piece turns one brush mark into dense patterns, a blue grid, and a final book form.

The opening multiplies one red-tile brush mark into a field of marks by 2.75 seconds without a cut. Rapid changes around 3.6–10 seconds, a red/yellow reset at 10 seconds, and a dark-to-blue grid at 21.5–27.1 seconds keep changing the scale before the book payoff.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A single black brush mark sits on a red square in a white paper field. Construction lines appear to make the mark feel designed; then the mark becomes paired tiles, clusters, dense fields, a patterned grid, and finally an open-book form. The promise is visual: stay to see how one typographic element grows into an entire graphic world.
Why it works
- The first 3 seconds continuously transform a centered mark without a cut: by 2.75 seconds, one tile has multiplied into many small calligraphic elements.
- Scale keeps changing: a 0.6-second circular close-up at 3.6 seconds gives way to dense cream fields at 6.5–10 seconds and a red/yellow panel at 10–13 seconds.
- The final 21.5–29.3-second move turns a dark glyph matrix into a blue grid, then resolves the visual system as a book at 27.1 seconds.
