Lucid–Nuro–Uber Robotaxi Launch Film
A silent, cinematic robotaxi launch film that moves from a light-up hero reveal to real-road proof and a three-partner lockup.
Field notes / why it works
A centered 5.55-second opening makes the front-light activation around 0:01–0:02 easy to notice before the first cut. The film then moves from partner identity at 0:08–0:18 to cockpit, street, cyclist, and sensor evidence at 0:19–0:50; the final 3.1-second black lockup lets the proof resolve into an announcement.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A polished, silent, one-minute launch film introduces a physical product through a symmetrical front reveal, shows who is behind it through marks on the product, then demonstrates it moving through a real environment. The promise is visual: this is a finished thing operating in the world, not merely a concept. The final black card identifies the partnership after the proof.
Why it works
- At 0:00–0:05.5, one frontal composition holds long enough for the lighting change around 0:01–0:02 to act as the reveal; the object earns a clear silhouette before rapid coverage.
- The sequence moves from identity to capability: partner marks at 0:08–0:18, cockpit and steering at 0:19 and 0:30, then a signal, cyclist, intersection, and sensors at 0:32–0:48. These images give the announcement visual evidence.
- Nineteen cuts over 60.1 seconds keep it cinematic rather than frantic; the last 3.1 seconds clear to a black three-logo card, giving the launch an unambiguous owner.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 1280×720, 16:9 · 60.1 s · 23.98 fps |
| Pace | 20 shots; 19 definite cuts, 19.0–20.0 cuts/min allowing one uncertain change at 0:28.2; 25.9 picture changes/min reported by the detector; mean shot 3.01 s, median 2.95 s |
| Script | No reliable speech. The two isolated “You” detections at 0:25.5 and 0:55.5 are inconsistent with the silent audio measurement; spoken word count and WPM are not applicable. |
| Voice | None in the measured file; no person addresses camera. A cockpit occupant appears briefly as part of the demonstration. |
| On screen | All live-action product and environment footage until the final logo card; roughly 60% vehicle exterior, 25% cockpit/sensor detail, 10% road context, 5% end card (estimated from the shot list). |
| Captions | None. Only vehicle decals and the final brand lockup are legible. |
| Sound | Measured file effectively silent: −70.0 LUFS integrated, no detectable music bed or cut accents. This describes the supplied file, not necessarily every published playback. |
| Structure | Hero reveal → identity → moving proof → autonomy/context details → final lockup. Visual payoff in the road crossing at 0:45.8–0:50; brand payoff at 0:57. No in-video verbal CTA. |
