Astra's cinematic comparison reel
A launch montage uses a traveling before/after divider across 28 cinematic scenes, with a rapid proof burst and a long action finale.
Field notes / why it works
The opening holds a single neon-lit comparison for 6.25 seconds, giving viewers time to understand the traveling divider before the montage starts. Seven shots between 0:18.4 and 0:25.1 broaden the proof quickly, while the same divider unifies portraits, landscapes, action, and fantasy. A 9.84-second final action shot lets the reel finish on a legible event rather than another quick glimpse.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A music-led, 16:9 launch film sells a visual transformation by showing it across many cinematic subjects. A thin vertical divider travels across each matched image, letting the viewer see the change before any explanation. The reference identifies Astra subtly inside the footage; the post copy carries the explicit launch announcement and product description.
Why it works
- The 0:00–0:06.25 car scene gives a viewer time to register the before/after wipe, the product's core proof device, before the montage accelerates.
- The 0:18.4–0:25.1 run fits seven shots into 6.7 s, shifting from a cinematic opener into a high-density catalog of possible use cases.
- The source range spans portraits, landscapes, action, fantasy, and science fiction; the recurring divider and small
Astra.appmark keep these otherwise unrelated images legible as one demonstration.
