WHOOP Awakening Launch Film
A rapid problem-to-product wearable launch film that slows its clinical and athletic montage into a clean hardware reveal.
Field notes / why it works
The first 7 seconds turn a broad system critique into a fast sequence of money, pills, and clinical imagery, making each cost visible before the product appears. A human and athletic pivot around 0:07.7 leads to product and UI proof around 0:20–0:26. The pace drops from 23 cuts in the first 15 seconds to a 3.54-second final product hold, making the reveal easy to read.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A 38-second vertical launch film turns an abstract health frustration into a tangible product promise. A low, urgent narrator names the old system's cost while city, medical, and lab images accelerate; elite training and everyday life then translate the product into agency, ending on an isolated hardware reveal.
Why it works
- The opening delays the product: an aerial city fall and crowded crossing at 0:00–0:03 make the problem feel societal before a device appears.
- The negative triad runs across money, pills, scans, and heart traces at 0:03–0:11; each abstract claim gets a specific visual category.
- The cut rate slows from 23 cuts in the first 15 seconds to no cuts after 0:34.5, letting the final three-product composition register.
