Field notes / why it works

The opening mark becomes a measured vector construction by 2.5 seconds, making the design process the hook before the new name appears around 8–10 seconds. The middle turns abstract design principles into tangible type, UI, and playful collaboration reactions across purple, pink, teal, and blue scenes (21–39 seconds). Fourteen shots plus eight internal graphic changes keep the 51-second film moving without narration, while the final benefit cards deliver a clear brand promise by 49.2 seconds.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A 51-second, 16:9 motion-design launch announces a new visual language without narration. It first deconstructs a familiar mark, then reveals the design system through type, color, interface details, and expressive collaboration stickers before ending on three concise benefit statements.

Why it works

  • The first 2.75 seconds turn a compact yellow logo into a black vector construction drawing, making the new system feel designed rather than merely announced.
  • At 8.3–9.6 seconds, a clean name reveal and small collaborator cursors translate the abstract identity into a product promise.
  • From 21.0–39.0 seconds, saturated purple, pink, teal, and blue cards cycle through sparks, a mock UI, and reactions; the film has 24.7 measured picture changes per minute despite only 15.3–16.5 cuts per minute.

Pace14 shots, 13 measured cuts; 15.3–16.5 cuts/min including one uncertain change; 24.7 picture changes/min; mean shot 3.64 s, median 3.44 s
ScriptNo intelligible speech; on-screen name, specimens, labels, and short closing statements drive the story. The transcript's six punctuation marks are recognition artifacts.
VoiceNone verified; no speaker or person appears.
On screen100% designed motion graphics: approximately 11 s identity/geometry, 13 s typographic and UI specimens, 15 s expressive reaction/sticker showcase, 12 s value and end cards. Shares are approximate from the shot sheets.
CaptionsNo spoken-word subtitles. Use centered headline cards and small UI labels.
SoundContinuous tonal/music-like bed through the main film; about −17.4 LUFS integrated and −5.2 dBFS true peak. No clear cut-synced SFX in the measurements.
StructureFive phases: identity → name → system specimens → collaboration expression → value-line close; final branded card at about 49.2 s.
