Vidu Q1 Capability Montage
An 88-second launch film that moves from cinematic samples to comparison proof, a rapid style montage, and a visible sound-layer demo.
Field notes / why it works
A single centered claim holds the first 3.5 seconds, then varied cinematic scenes establish visual range. Comparison tiles around 0:18 and 0:30 make the transition feature legible, while 17 cuts from 0:45 to 1:00 create a clear speed peak. The 1:00 sound cue and effect-layer bars around 1:10 switch to a new kind of proof before the 2.5-second logo close.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A widescreen product launch film promises high visual quality with a single centered sentence before showing a sequence of cinematic samples. It changes the type of proof: striking stand-alone scenes, framed beginning/end comparisons, a much faster genre montage, then sound scenes with an interface-like effect timeline. The logo lands after the visual payoff.
Why it works
- The first 3.5 seconds hold one claim on black, then the picture shifts to dense spectacle. That contrast gives the next 14 seconds of space, water and character images a clear premise.
- The proof changes format around 0:18 and 0:30: a scene is shown with small selectable frame tiles, so the viewer can understand the transition capability rather than seeing only pretty output.
- The tempo climbs sharply from 0:40 to 0:56: 19 shots in about 16 seconds, including anime, action, vehicles and fighters. At 1:00, the film resets with a “Sounds On” cue and starts a separate audio proof chapter.

| Reference | |
|---|---|
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 16:9, 1280×720 · 88.0 s at 24 fps |
| Pace | 55 shots, 54 measured cuts; 36.8–41.6 cuts/min including 7 uncertain changes; mean 1.6 s, median 1.08 s per shot |
| Script | No reliable spoken words. The six transcript tokens are punctuation-only recognition artifacts. Text carries the claims. |
| Voice | None evident in the sheets or usable transcript. |
| On screen | Film samples dominate; two comparison/interface moments near 0:18 and 0:30; sound timeline overlays near 1:10–1:15; title and end card. |
| Captions | No running subtitles. Sparse centered white headline and short chapter cue. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal bed measured near −22 dBFS between detected tokens; about 104 BPM is a low-confidence estimate. Integrated level −11.7 LUFS. |
| Structure | Claim → cinematic variety → comparison proof → accelerated style montage → sound proof → epic payoff → logo. |
