A laptop opens onto a drawing canvas

A 23-second product launch film turns a laptop opening, handwritten in-app copy, and tactile UI close-ups into a personal reveal.

Field notes / why it works

The hand opens a closed laptop immediately, and the first cut at 0.7 seconds reveals a person using the app. A short handwritten benefit becomes readable by about 2.5 seconds, so the product itself carries the promise. The edit accelerates through four cuts between 15.0 and 16.9 seconds, then settles on a roughly three-second human closing shot.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A warm, observational launch film starts on a closed laptop, opens onto the product, and lets its interface carry the promise. Handwritten canvas text, fragments of real use, a playful example, and a person behind the computer make a sparse web app feel personal and tangible.

Why it works

  • The physical action begins at 0:00 and the first cut arrives at 0:00.7; there is no logo or preamble to wait through.
  • The core benefit is legible on the canvas by about 0:02.5, before the 0:05.4 cut to interface detail.
  • Four cuts from 0:15.0 to 0:16.9 compress a series of UI and human details, then a longer final human shot at 0:19.3 gives the film a place to land.

Platform · aspect · lengthX · 16:9 · 1280×720 · 60 fps · 23.0 s
Pace15 shots, 14 cuts, 36.5 cuts/min; 39.2 picture changes/min including one detected internal change; mean 1.53 s/shot, median 1.22 s
ScriptOn-screen microcopy leads. Speech detection reports 4 words, 25 wpm overall, first at 0:13.4; low-confidence transcript, so do not build the format around narration.
VoiceBrief human speech, apparently incidental; no sustained narrator. Exact words are uncertain.
On screenApprox. 55% product/UI close-ups, 45% live-action person, hands, and laptop; many UI views are filmed off a screen rather than clean captures.
CaptionsNone. Handwritten product text inside the canvas is the message.
SoundQuiet rhythmic bed is suggested by the audio measurements, about 129 BPM (heuristic); no clear cut-synced effects. −22.5 LUFS integrated, −1.3 dBFS true peak.
StructurePhysical hook → benefit text → use and personality → feature/detail montage → human ending. No explicit in-video CTA.
