A Worn-Out Switch Transforms Into Its Successor
A word-light 3D fan trailer turns an aging console character into a staged product-upgrade reveal and logo payoff.
Field notes / why it works
The instantly readable cane, slumped face, and halting walk establish the old product's problem by 0:00.25 without explanatory copy. A single cut at 0:16.8 changes the world to bright green, then visible upgrades at 0:24–0:35 build toward a fall, a six-second empty pause, and the close-up/product-card payoff at 0:50–0:57.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A familiar product becomes a weary cartoon character. A sudden change of setting and a visible component-by-component upgrade turn its physical struggle into a reveal of the new version; a clean brand card closes the story. The promise is visual rather than verbal: what will happen to this character? (inferred).
Why it works
- The first visible frame at 0:00.25 combines a console body, expressive face, shoes, and cane in one instantly legible image; the opening needs no headline.
- It waits 16.85 seconds for the first cut, then pays off the held setup with a bright green world and successive visible changes at 0:20.5, 0:24.1, 0:26.5, 0:29.5, and 0:35.0.
- The transformed character still stumbles at about 0:39–0:43; a 6.92-second empty landscape creates a second suspense gap before the component close-up and red end card.

| Script | Four machine-detected spoken words across two fragments; 21 wpm over the whole film, about 43 wpm during detected speech. Both fragments have low confidence. |
| Voice | No sustained narrator or presenter; brief, uncertain speech-like exclamations around 0:18.6 and 0:27.1. |
| On screen | 100% stylized 3D animation: character in wide landscapes, a final close-up/tableau, then a graphic end card. No live-action people. |
| Captions | No dialogue subtitles. One short phrase appears on the character's screen around 0:20.5; brand lockup fills the final red card. |
